Governance and funding
IGT is an independent, non-profit research institute registered under Korean law as an incorporated association.
We have no affiliation with any political party or commercial interest, and our research agenda is determined solely by what the evidence demands.
We are governed by a board of directors, led by a chair, and supported by senior advisors, research advisors, statutory and accounting auditors.
Day-to-day leadership rests with the Director and Deputy Director, working alongside the heads of our four research and programme teams.
IGT is supported by a community of members — both full members and supporting members — who share our commitment to a just and sustainable transition.
We are grateful for the support of domestic and international philanthropic foundations and climate funds whose partnership makes our research possible.
Our project-based work is carried out in collaboration with local and regional governments, research institutions, media organisations,
and civil society groups in South Korea and with partners overseas.
Together, we are building the research and political foundations that a just transition requires.
